What we do, what  you'll experience

We help you achieve the journey of your dreams

What We Do

In a nutshell, we offer what we call "Crafted Tours".  We provide well planned tours of Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales based on itineraries we've personally experienced over the years.  We avoid the mundane and aim for the sublime.  Every trip is personally crafted and researched for maximum enjoyment and meaningful experiences.  Our philosophy is that one trip is never enough to see everything so we don't rush with a lot of one day stops, but rather spend at least a couple of days in a few diverse areas to get a broad sampling of the countries we visit. Luxury Coach travel!  All travel in-country is via luxury tour mini-bus, usually Mercedes Benz.  Our tour drivers are knowledgeable locals who bring a lot of insight and color to the locations we go.  Some drivers also serve as tour guides, specifically in Ireland, if not, our attentive concierge will provide plenty of information on each destination as well.  Pricing.   We feel our pricing is very competitive with the self-driving, high-volume tours, and we believe we are better priced than most similar "concierge" style tours as well!  We aim to offer a "next level" touring experience for not much more than a "self driving" tour with better locations, and a travel experience via luxury coach that driving yourself can't compare with!  Unlike a lot of tour company offerings, our staff will also personally attend the tour as your personal concierge to make sure everything goes exactly as planned, to assist should anything unexpected occur, and to give personal recommendation and assistance every step of the way!  At no time will you be left wondering what to do. Even when you go on your own, we'll make sure you have access to contact us should you need to.

Our tours are based out of DFW so that we can all arrive together and get started on our tour the moment we arrive.  If you'd like to start from another airport, we can certainly arrange a meeting place and time when we arrive in country.

We Use the weekends!

We take advantage of 2 weekends per tour! No leaving Monday and coming back on a Thursday 10 days later just to save money on the flights for us!  While we do have other custom options, our standard offering is based on the need that many customers have to fit their travel into as few PTO days as possible, so we try to book late on a Thursday or Friday afternoon so that our guests have the option to work up until early afternoon on the day of departure and return home by Sunday evening, giving them the option of only missing five or six work days, but getting a full 10 or 11 days of travel (of course the option is also to take one extra day off to rest, but that's up to you!).  When we first started our venture, we had a lot of feedback that missing more than one week at a time is hard on their job, their business, pets, or other factors.  We believe that 9 or 10 nights in a country can give a full experience without feeling you were rushed or didn't get a chance to see enough.  The goal is NOT to see everything but to be thrilled with what you did and to want to go again! That said, you can add a few days on your own at the end of the tour and we'll be glad to help you with those arrangements!

Where we Stay

Generally we will stay in quality, mostly 4 star accommodations.  If lower or non-star rated, we choose highly reviewed and high-scoring only, usually 500 reviews minimum with high 7s to 10 rating average.  We prioritize safety, location, reputation, comfort and cleanliness when choosing our stays.  We seek to offer the experience of the various styles the country is known for.  A tour will typically stay in BnB's and small hotels and castles, in perfect locations in relation to the area we are visiting.  When in the larger cities we will stay in larger hotels in the city center to fully experience all that the city has to offer.

A word about Air Conditioning and Lifts

Generally speaking the Isles of Britain and Ireland are temperate and as such have little need for air conditioning.  In fact, depending on what source you read, less than 1 percent of buildings there have it.  That makes it rather difficult to find and if taken as a priority would limit which areas of the country you could stay in.  That said for any custom trip, especially in the middle of the summer, we can give priority to finding accommodations with air conditioning, and even in spring and fall, we usually get some in the larger cities of London or Dublin (Edinburgh would probably be a waste of time as it is never really "warm" by American standards).   The same goes for elevators or "lifts" as they're called there,  we can definitely specify those on a custom tour staying in the larger cities, and tour outward from those to the countryside for day trips.  We can also prioritize ground level floors for guests who cannot negotiate stairs as another option, just be sure to mention it when booking!   Is there never an uncomfortably warm night in Spring or Autumn?  Never say never, there may be a warm night or two where you'll have to open the window and use a fan (usually provided by the hotel),  but on the majority of days/nights you'll want warmth most likely, which they always have plenty of heat available.  Please look at monthly temperature averages and compare them to other parts of Europe as close by as Paris and you'll see a vast difference between them.  Our first trip to Ireland, we flew from Rome which was in the 90s, and landed in Dublin which was in the 50s!, this was at the end of August! A day that reaches the mid-70s for a high is a rare and welcomed treat there!  We prefer Spring and Autumn travel for several reasons but also realize that its difficult for some, so we can put together a custom or semi-custom tour for any time of year.

Consulting

Want to go it alone?  We understand and can help!  Not every traveler is the same.  Some of us like to do our own thing, go our own way, or just be in alone with our significant other or even solo!  We're glad to lend a hand in planning a trip anywhere, especially to the countries we specialize in!  We can put together a customized, self-drive tour and help make sure you see and enjoy the best trip you've ever imagined.  Hit the contact button and let me know what you'd like help with!  A custom itinerary, private and self-drive tour will usually run about $100 per day to plan for 2 people, then $50 per room/car after that, plus the costs of the trip. I can work with any reasonable budget with options from budget/economy to luxury!
